These people hate characters behaving like humans, don’t pay them too much heed. This is a well written story where the characters all have faults that are established before they are used. FL is not a pushover for wanting a position where she can be independent when she’s no longer Diana’s “princess” as she, naturally, doesn’t know what we do. She’s not reincarnated into a story, she lived in an information guild that often fed her bad information. It is unreasonable to expect characters to know what genre they’re in.
Oh, and from what she knows about the original timeline, Diana doesn’t need her to be close to be safe, so no, she’s not an idiot for choosing to work as a maid.
