Review as of Chapter 15:
The story overall is pretty good. The author took setting elements from existing stories but adds some good variation so it feel pretty fresh. The character writing is pretty good and the dialogue flows well.
The ML is actually good. He makes a pretty dumb decision in the very beginning but has a justified reason for it. So far, he seems like a good character that will get more interesting as the story progresses.
As for the FL, there is nothing likeable about her. Although she is a victim of the emporers schemes, she’s also a manipulator. She’s been working for the emporer against the person she “loves” for 6 years. On top of that, her actions directly caused bad things to happen (not gonna spoil what) and she blames ML for it…. wtf is that? He didn’t fucking do anything wrong. She plays the victim card way too much for someone who’s an offender of manipulation.
If the FL gets off scot-free, I’m going to be so pissed. She shouldn’t get a free pass for manipulating the ML and changing the original story. I know its a romance so she probably will but they should make this into a “regretful FL” story

I read up till 20 chapter. ML is not a trash at all~ I think FL is worse than ML lol. All details are explained later from FL & ML POV so yeahh just don’t trust review that doesn’t read pass 15 chapters 😆 this story is good. There’s plot twist that I didn’t expect at all

Anyway. FL and ML both EQUALLY emotionally manipulated eachother. Theyre both scummy people being coerced to do so due to the Emperor. Avoiding the accountability of female characters is just as misogynistic as hyper-policing their actions.

I never understand comments like this. Just say you dislike the story…? A story with angsty/tragic elements doesnt make the story trash, it just means its not your taste.
Just like how a fluff story isnt inherently good. The content itself could be bland, undeveloped and lazy.
