They committed treason against the ruler of their country. They deserve to be exiled at the very least and at most, executed. She should know better than to let people be who are capable of forcing her into marriage (and probably worse). There was no reason to protect them. The only people who shouldn’t be punished are the guards and employees. Even the priest should at least lose his position.
