Agreed, comments. “Boys will be Boys” and “Kids will be Kids” – both enabling and bad parenting takes that were SUPER common in the 80’s and 90’s when I was growing up. I’ve seen way too many enabled cunts and brats that grew up to become toxic abusive partners, cheating sluts, murderers, grapists, etc – It is your job as an adult when you have kids to discipline and instill values in your children, BEFORE they grow up – turning 18 is not a magical potion that suddenly makes you a healthy, happy, kind adult.
That said, that’s not what she means, here. She means that they are just kids and stabbing them or attacking them with a knife for the failing of their parents is a bit extreme. Not that what they are doing is okay or ‘not that bad’ – she knows it’s bad. But there’s not a lot she can do. They are not her kids and it’s the fault of their upbringing that they are awful.

I agree with the comments wholeheartedly, and to even add, sadly those kids who do things like that think they can get away with everything they do so they don’t stop not even when they’ve learned their lesson, though it is an exception for the ones who do learn and change for the better

I hate when people say “oh they’re just kids” no if you let them do this as a kid and don’t punish them, they’ll think this is acceptable and will grow up to be a sociopath. Why did A kill that girl out of jealousy? Cause she did shit like this as a kid. Why did B kill that guy because he wanted that position? Because he did shit like this as a kid. Kids that do shit like this as kids continue to do shit like this as adults. They don’t suddenly become good. Evil is evil regardless of age.
