@Maguna They’ve literally shown her dead body from other lives multiple times before in his flashback/memories. There were several of her lying dead alone, and then when they introduced the last aide, there were a couple of the aide kneeling by her corpse (as it seems in a past life, he was her student and devoted himself to her, which is why the Emperor hired him this time and assumed that he would be a loyal aide to the Empress when they got married – but Butterfly effect and all that and he ended up hating and resenting her).
From this chapter, it seems that she ends up with the Prince in all the other lives, and that either she dies from being near him or even that he’s abusive and murders her (based on the “save you from him” line, but as I don’t speak Korean, I don’t know if the translation is accurate or just a general approximation)

So then what I’m gathering is that 1. he has repeated for HUNDRESDS of times, which is a lot more than I was guessing.
2. Elle marries that prince dude? Or someone else at least and that ends badly? You said “protect her” so I’m guessing it somehow ends badly, maybe she dies or something?
