They’re both INCREDIBLY similar as someone who greatly enjoys both. TP and ORV both involve scenarios, a protagonist obsessed with a fictional novels protagonist who regresses and in such a frustrating manner as well, gods regularly communicating in chat form with the protag, items shop thats massive and plays into the main plot in incredibly important ways multiple times…. TP took almost all of the major points of world building from ORV but changed the genre! Frankly I love it bc im a huge fan of ORV and especially regression focused victorian age manwhas. Honestly its the one thing ORV (rightfully so) lacks. To say they’re not similar is crazy to me lol @mika<3 @histrionicbookworm

…. Not really? The only thing that similar is that both of the ML’s in the books regressed multiple times.

@Kazuha my beloved In what way do you mean it’s too similar? Because regression is a plot point? Regression is a popular feature of stories to the point that it’s basically it’s own genre, but I don’t really see a lot of similarities beyond that? Like, the protagonists both use knowledge of the original ‘timeline’ to benefit themselves, but again that’s a feature of Regression stories, and also very common in Isekai stories as well.

I dont know how i only just realized this but isnt this story way too similair to omniscient reader
