Humans started with access to all abilities but due to differences in personality, conflicts arose and they began to fight & kill each other. The fairy stripped most humans of abilities by transferring them to a select few. These few became super powered. This isolated the super humans and they began to act violently in their despair. The fairy made a deal with them, where they would pair with a another human and willingly exchange magic with them, creating a bond. The bond will act as an emotional anchor for the super humans, alleviating their loneliness. I think that’s roughly what was explained…
