Yeah, I’m also of the opinion that she’s the daughter of the dead brother of the current duke. But I also think, based on the handful of clues about that man’s death being connected with being on bad terms with the imperial family that’s might be where the mother is from. Full on Romeo and Juliet forbidden romance that ended tragically.
It also explains the grandfather’s disappearing act. To keep the little one off of everyone’s radar he couldn’t be dropping clues, not even to family.

So here’s my conclusion about this panel…
I think she is the daughter of the second son of the former duke, cuz if he died 11years ago and lets say that he has a lover and was pregnant with his child at that moment, then she needs 9months to gave birth…. Additionally she is now 10years old sooo that’s why i came up with this conclusion.
