I kind of don’t like him using her, but he acknowledges it and knows she shouldn’t always rely on her. I will give him points for respecting her boundaries. A strong person who strives to get stronger should be paired with a person who has that same goal. So ofc he treats her real self as duchess bad bc he still underestimates her as some weak rich girl. It’s human nature to judge appearances. If you didn’t judge every book by its cover, you’d be dead already from hugging some psycho stranger who obviously displayed all the warning signs.
