@creampuff0902 Common knowledge varies depending on the group/community u surround yourself with. Ur not “at fault” for not connecting that abbreviation especially if u have never used or heard it that way. All that matters is now u know! The first time I saw “cp” was in anime gaming stats translation meaning “combat power” so I said the abbreviation in public to my bf and was corrected. Never did it again. I never seen cp to refer to “crown prince” but im also just new to reading these. I only knew mc as a talkshow host and recently had to look that up but “main character” makes sense now that ik lol.

If you think anyone on this planet uses the abbreviation “cp” for anything other than relation to child p*rn, then that’s on you. Cerebral palsy, cellphone, crown prince, absolutely NO ONE abbreviates such words with “cp”, that is literally just common knowledge and having an actual moral compass, I myself have read a lot of manhwas, never seen anyone refer a crown prince to “cp” and I wonder why that is… Oh right because its common knowledge what it has always stood for, there is no reason to defend yourself or anyone saying “cp” could mean other things because it just doesn’t, it never has and never will be used for any other abbreviations lol.

Im curious… the first thing i thought of is that cp meant crown prince for short, so how could someone suddenly misunderstand it into something else? Especially in a manhwa. Does that mean we shouldn’t shorten the female lead into fl anymore since it could possibly be misunderstood into something else too? If so then im glad that i don’t try to shorten my words anymore as best as i can whenever i chat with a friend online.
Also, i hope my words didn’t sound rude, im just really confused since i don’t really know much of how things work these days anymore.

They’re just trying to warn you, Roslyn, about that how abbreviation can also be taken the wrong way by someone meaning to give you a hard time/ turn you into a creep but honestly, first time I’m hearing that abbreviation meaning that either so you’re reaction is understandable 🤷♀️and I’m gen z. I swear nothing can just be anymore, everything stands for something and is a problem. One meaning comes along and ruins all previous abbreviation meanings 🙄

Translation is really annoying in more recent chapters. Translator keeps making it sound like the crown prince is talking about himself with “I” and “me” when he’s talking about the princess/ Tiel. It’s very annoying and ruining the quality

Rosylin, you might want to rethink using that abbreviation to refer to the prince, it has very serious negative connotations. On a comic featuring underage characters and Asian art style, it is all too easy to jump to the wrong conclusion.
