Why does the duke need an semi-emotionally stable woman to make him do the obvious for a child?
Kangnyang
Dude takes his sister child as his own son, but couldn’t even raise him properly. You don’t even fulfill your duty as his father and creating emotional distress to his own son lmfao. To boldy said you would take him as your son but treat her like some kind of stranger child from orphanage
Higanbana
The one who raises a child is called a father. Not the one who helped make it.

It’s not uncommon for a sibling to adopt their deceased sibling’s child. If a family love each other then yeah it’s expected. A child still needs a mother and father. Not unusual. I think because this is aristocratic, the world can think he’s the real dad but the kid should know he has a mother but died at childbirth, and she has SUCH a loving brother that will of his nephew as his real child. Any child in this situation would feel lucky to have a great uncle.

I don’t think it’s weird to call an uncle “dad” or an aunt “mom” because if the said adult has fulfilled such responsibilities and care that would prompt a child to address them that way then they deserve it.

I think it’s so weird for people to hate on a kid calling his uncle “dad” if they don’t have one in their lives, (even if the mom the sister is still alive). I think it’s sweet. People just automatically assume incest, when it’s far from it. If I had a son who’s dad died or with a pos excuse of a man, I wouldn’t mind if they called my brother “dad” if he helps me out in my time of need. Especially, if I decided to never get married again or waited to do it after my kid got older, bc they would’ve known my brother longer than any new guy that was brought in. My brother and I basically grew up without a father, so I would trust him the most to ensure my child wouldn’t go through what he did alone as a fellow boy. 💯
