It’d be nice if FL could articulate her thoughts better. It is unfair that she’s trapped dealing with the aftermath of the previous villain, but she could just say I don’t remember, the amnesia trope right? She already said she doesn’t have all her memories. Just say I don’t know why I was such a witch, and I’d like to do better. I’m sorry for hurting you. ML is right to be suspicious.
Finally, some clear thought processing from the ML. So many good MLs with brains are called trashy and were red-flagged just because they can’t accept their ‘evil’ wives are suddenly nice. It’s an overused trope but this is better and more understandable than most.
Finally a character with brains! If someone who tormented you for years suddenly changed, naturally your defensive and wondering what the new trick is. From someone who’s experienced it, his behavior is legit. You’re wondering what the purpose of the play is and which direction the knife is coming from….unless you have Stockholm syndrome. Hes clearly physically “in love with her”, but mentally at least halfway sound of mind.
people like that don’t suddenly change, and she didn’t, she’s literally a different person. She didn’t change, the owner of the body did. Anyone who thinks his reaction is wrong or he should jump at the chance to reconcile and be all lovey dovey are either living in a Disneyland fantasy, or gonna get used a Lot in life. 🤷♀️ if you’re looking for a legit Fairytale romance stories like that are a dime a dzn. I’m liking this one.
