@Excarlet, I don’t remember FL “gave a chance to choose her or the church and he chose church”. She simply noticed that Gabriel chose to believe in the Church after Veronica’s down fall, rejected his offer to go to Garcia with him, and asked him to grant her a wish one day.
In fact, I believed that if she asked Gabriel to stay 5 years ago, he would have.
He once told Saintess Veronica that he wanna protect FL by her side, but she has so many people protecting her already, so she doesn’t need him.
I believed that FL let Gabriel leave and didn’t ask him to stay because she didn’t wanna “take advantage of him” with the fact that he likes her.
Veronica once mentioned that she hates FL acting “so mighty” that FL doesn’t even try to control Gabriel even though she could have.
