Evelyn was accused of killing Joshua, crown prince, and burning down her estate to hide the evidence. What actually happened is she knocked him out and sent him with her daughter and friend out of the kingdom long enough for her plan to finish. Her plan was to bring the Archduke, redhead, down with her and have them both be killed and then magically crown prince reappears to take over the nation (hasn’t been actually said, but my assumption). At the trial, she claims the she acted, “killed crown prince”, on Archduke’s orders. They were both under suspicion. It would appear that she thought far enough ahead that she knew Archduke would come to her in prison and she wanted to attempt to kill him there, ultimately leading to her death either at allegations of crown prince’s murder or actual murder of Archduke.

Can someone explain the political scenario to me in autistic detail. Bc I’m so confused, I’m only here to see wtf is going on w the dead lover and her current lover, all this other bullshit has become quite confusing
