Grieving parents who have lost a child are no joke. Grief comes in so many forms, and each person goes through it differently. This isn’t about abandoning a child. From a child’s perspective, when they’re moving from an only child to an older sibling – the feeling is understandable. But she’s lived 60 years. I thought she would have the emotional maturity to understand the situation better. But then again, because that tragedy happened when she was young (middle school or high school going by the memory) and she’s so obsessed with her goal, she’s probably not thinking about the situation from their perspective.

It was that he said he wanted to forget about her/ never talk about her again and the mother responded saying she’d not think of her any more. At all vs some are completely different. That would hurt. Also that happened to one of my irl friend’s when one of her parents remarried and they acted like her other parent never existed and quickly moved on. That pain goes deep. I can’t imagine going through that and wouldn’t want to. But it doesn’t take a genius to see it would be painful treat the loved one like they never existed or watch other’s do it about the one you loved. It’s different than just wanting to not dwell 24/7 for peace of mind

🤨 How could she be so thick as to not realize why they wouldn’t want to talk about the child they lost while holding the child they have right there? It’s not because they hate first one or wish the first didn’t exist, it’s obvious because it hurts! You never forget, but it’s not healthy to dwell on loss either!
