   Even in our place as long as the person in front of me is older than me i will call them older brother/sister
   It is just etiquette
   Like even if we’re married

   We have too many relatives in the world
   🇮🇳 All indians are my brothers and sisters

   So i really would perfer a foreign groom 😉
   my family it is so so strict that i can never call an older person(even if by one year) by their name 😢

   We asians call our elder person sister/brother even though we don’t have any blood relations as way of respect.
   In my country 🇵🇭, we also have uncle/auntie and granny/grandpa.
   It may seem we have alot of relatives, but since the people are close knit, they the elders wanted the respect to be passed to the young ones.

   maybe he meant “noona” ior “unnie” in Korean as an honorific to respect an older woman (not always literally). this doesn’t translate well in English because there’s no good equivalent other than “sister”
