I think fl’s mom run away or betrayed him when she was pregnant with her the probably died during childbirth then the midwife or someone sent her to the orphanage

So they just made it so obvious she’s his biological daughter- kinda wished they just slowly fed us that idea instead of bumrushing us with it from the start(now we’re all gonna be anxious for that reveal).
I do like the contrast in how the dad(unlike other stories) doesn’t just immediately like her and agrees to take her in out of a long lost wife and child or some curiosity; he sees she will be trouble in some way and tries to tell her to shoo. Like the contrast and reality of it.

So. This is what I think, mother died somehow, probably at birth. And he couldn’t bare to see there daughter so he puts her up for adoption.
