Honestly, it feels more likely for feminist authors to write stories where the established leaders have a more misogynistic view so that they can highlight how bad it is and the good characters fighting against it. When the choice is to be historically accurate but still fight against it, our just push a non-mysoginistic society, I think fighting against it is more effective
