If I remember right, in the novel , no one knew the ML used had Devine power or that he used it on asha , he used all his Devine power every day until he couldn’t anymore , he is not used to using it for healing, and his keeping it secret as his ace in the hole , it was the only thing keeping her alive , and asha never found out that he saved her this way , it was nice because it was an altruistic act not looking for any recognition or gratitude but done only for the benefit of the other person .
