Im not sure if i understood it right, but its like, the Wicker Family (Baron Wicker + Rita and her mother, yk) had a really good reputation and were important. I think they were able to decide important matters on their own, without needing the approval of the Proud Family?
The Mother of Rosa Felicia Carter?(forgot her name) and her Brother, Proud Carter, were both trying to be the Duke in the Proud Family. The parents didnt know who to choose as they were both equal smart/ good at handling business or wtv, so they gave them the opportunity to show, why he/she is better. While the Mother of Rosa had the idea to find new Trade Partners for the family, Proud Carter destroyed the Wicker Family in order to gain the power the Proud Family once had before the Wicker Family.
