i don’t know, from what i understand there’s a spectrum. for me, ive work around face blindness by observing voice, hairstyle, significant features, gait, personal style, things like that.
i can figure out who people are, its when i see someone out of context that it becomes more frustrating for me, but the better i know someone, the more familiar i am with the identifiers listed above, the easier it is to know who it is.
i enjoy the story, but i find the depiction wholly unrealistic. it would be unlikely someone could successfully impersonate someone i am close to – they’d have to match their hair, voice, body language, stature, etc, AND not have any drastically different features.
since, as far as im aware, most face blindness is developed from trauma, maybe some face blind people can recognize some faces. the brain is a weird thing.
but for me, no. when i picture someone it’s like an outline, an ambiance. there are no exceptions, i cannot picture anyone’s face in my minds eye, and i cannot recognize anyone’s face, just their other features. doesn’t make for a cute romance though, lol.

@chipmunk, do you think it’s realistic that the ml can only see the fl face? I am curious to hear from someone with this condition.

i have face blindness and i can recognize a clown by the makeup and big red nose lol. it’s not like faces are blocked out, we just don’t recognize them.
