Layla always walks on eggshells around her uncle. He unknowingly says hurtful words to her like first he told her that he likes kids who eats like cow and then he told her to go to party wearing his gifted dress and necklace or else he won’t talk to her. And now he’s saying to take the university entrace exam and go to university by marrying Kyle otherwise he’ll consider if they’re real family or not.🤦♂️🤦♂️she always hide her emotions by smiling more. I know Uncle has good intentions in saying all these things but this is one of the reasons why Layla walks on eggshells around Uncle and Kyle despite considering them family. ON the other hand, Layla don’t wear any mask in front of Matthias. Her raw emotions find a way to come to surface in front of Matthias.

As much as I feel for Leila in the future (and because of her childhood), she always lets/makes herself into a sacrificial lamb. She gets/puts herself into completely avoidable situations. As much as I love the art, she has a persistent ‘dead-behind-the-eyes’ look which leads to her seeming naive to the point of reckless stupidity. She makes/will make all these rash decisions so that her uncle isn’t dishonored or get into trouble, but her choices would cause even more pain if her uncle knew about it. Ultimately, most of the bullies get their wishes by the end of this story. Her sacrifices mean nothing. She brainwashes herself into thinking she’s happy and that she got what she wanted.
