That doesn’t excuse having an affair, not consummating the marriage with his wife, treating her harshly, protecting peptobismol head over his wife in public, insulting her and making her so depressed she dies in the novel. And after that immediately bringing bubblegum head into the duchy without a proper mourning of his legal wife. He got pink troll head a whole house, visited frequently and never said anything to his wife about the kid. If she didnt divorce him he would still be treating her the same, he thought she would love and forgive him forever so his tiny pea sized brain and -100 EQ cant understand why she would divorce him after he betrayed her and treated her like crap.

So what? You were still a burning trash dump of a husband. Go protect him alone.
scoups_wifey
So what? Why does she have to be involved in this?
Ummi Ikhwan
Sooo ?
Millermoe
How is this her problem?
Wait What
I think the point is not so much “bringing him in at the right time” as “not getting him involved at all unless my buddy the Crown Prince dies”.
The reasoning goes as such:
It’s not about brother fighting brother–it’s about the nobles who will try to use Jerry whether he wants the throne or not.
If there is only one visible heir, there’s no alternative for malcontents to get behind. There are logical reasons why monarchies historically tried to keep power-balances one-sided if possible, and why primogeniture existed.
Does everyone here understand the concept of Ra-sham-bo as played for stakes in Japan? “We all want this resource, and we all more or less deserve this resource. But, it’s not a resource that can be divided, so we’re going to play this completely arbitrary game of more or less chance to see who gets the goods. No hard feelings.” In this case, the lucky draws are “Who got born first?” and “Who got born *after* their parents were legally married?” But the institution of ‘the spare’ was also tried and true–because if the heir or king got a sliver and died of blood poisoning before he had a ‘primo’ of his own, then you needed that bastard son to marry his closest cousin to keep it all more or less in the family and avert the infighting of all the nobles with a claim to the throne.
Henry VIII, of the many wives and the–erm, uncertain potency–had valid reasons for needing that traditional, male heir. He was looking at all the development of his (or more like, his *father’s*) reign backsliding into civil war if he didn’t have one.

OK my dude, this only answers why you were visiting another woman. It doesn’t explain why you never visited your wife’s bedroom for 3 years, lol.

Omfg I almost thought he was gay there for a moment 😂
Ikr! I don’t think the current one is really corrupt or anything. And I don’t think that boy has a particular interest to risk his life for power and money. A real friend would ask for their opinion, or help send him off to a foreign country so he could live peacefully and not get involved.
enig121598
Doesn’t he consider the crown prince as his friend?? Why on earth is he trying to bring in that boy at all, knowing full well that it with cause a political and LITERAL bloodbath???????
