Honestly this is so frustrating, the plot is good but it lacks so much depth, there are no povs that ever said that fl loved or even thought about ml, she is constantly thinking of plans to kill him and if she really loved him killing him would be her last resort she couldn’t be able to think of it so easily as she is. The second lead has a blant character he just wants to go home, and also the translations so messed up. Ml was on path of redemption he was changing fl knew that its okay if it was an inbuilt fear in her that he will kill her she could have used methods to change the course since she was well versed in novels like these

Some readers need to be more sympathetic.
You can disagree with FL’s choice, but calling her dumb is bullying.
She is just an ordinary woman who’s scared. She is not a spy/ villainess/ OP heroine with superpower.
She is actually trying her best to survive. The OG Empress died almost immediately, but she has survived for so long.
Don’t forget that she was RAPED and physically abused by ML, but the artist just didn’t show much explicitly.
