I’m glad that the author and artist are depicting FL’s conflicted emotions so well.
For those readers who have been saying FL is an “idiot”, and questioning why she ran aways even though she has a “loving husband”, I hope you try to understand how she feels now.
I’m sincerely worried about these readers’ relationships in life.
FL and ML are just manipulating each other, intentionally, and unintentionally at the same time.
This is a very classic example of what a “toxic relationship” is.

Both are toxic yet not pure evil either. They bring out the worst of each other. He’s had a f-ed up upbringing, but it doesn’t give him a free pass for all his actions thus far. She’s not his therapist and pulled innocent others down with her when she can’t even make up her mind on whether to stay or leave. She wants to kill him to either protect herself or the people?? But isn’t prepared or willing to rule or fix the kingdom if she does succeed in killing him. She could be doing so much as Empress to change the violent ways of this land. He may be a tyrant, but in this case it’s better than having no emporer.

I’m so conflicted 🥲🥹😭 Likeeeeee does she just double down and kill this man or try to run away again? Orrrrr just accept his crazy ass and stay as the empress??? But idk the whole culture/way of the empire is all weird and violent. I don’t see how she can seriously adapt to their ways. Also, the emperor can’t even just let her go because she NEEDS to kill him in order to go back home 🤔 If it was up to me, I would just give up lmfao, killing that man seems like too much physical, mental, and emotional work
