no just imagine losing your homeland and then a daughter of an enemy buys you as a slave, uses fake smiles and sweet words so she can make u do her stuff but you still do it since you love her n want to be her side, her only knight, but even between these sweet moment that u put more value in than your life or even pride, can get stolen ….. and then some random bitch also manipulates you in making you torture someone u love, and when u finally break out of it, guess what your one sided love doesnt give a shit about you n blames u!
i also dont blame peneople she also just wanted to get out of this game
but this wasnt a game for him… he suffered everything…
@ Ms. Queen, may be you forgot that he was manipulated totally into bringing yvonne to the mansion. And as you said, yes he wasn’t right in his mind and much obsessed with penelope. But you never tried to see from his perspective. she’s the only one for him in this world and he wanted to be her only knight and loved her despite knowing all well that She’s been only using him and her gaze has always been cold and all the smiles have always been a facade to get her work done. Once you try to swap their genders, then you might feel bad for him too🙂
okay, i do not know why people are not feeling bad for penelope but for eclies instead , i agree that she used him , she wasnt a good master for someone like him , but then its not he hated her using him, in the before chapters he mentioned that it doesnt matter what the purpose is and she can use him as much she wants as long as he can stay by her side isnt it ???????? but then after few days that loyal dog just betrays her and of course she lost the meaning of the purpose when he brought that bitch to the duchy , even tho yvonne manuplated him to do so , he was still a obsessed physcopathic freak wasnt he??????????????????????
The reason everyone feels sorry for Eclis is because he is the stereotype “the fall guy who always fails because of the female lead’s actions.”
He loved Penelope in every timeline (like the yandere he is) but in basically every timeline, he would be used by Yvonne to get Penelope killed. Yet in this timeline, where she became his master, she mentally abused him to become her sword, knowing that she doesn’t love him yet continuously receiving ‘gifts’ to win his affection.
This isn’t the worst case of “fall guy” archetype i’ve seen in these romance stories, but damn is it up there (especially after this chapter.)

Ugh !! This is too much for me . Eclis is pathetic fool but for his condition you’re responsible too . I know he betrayed you but you of all people don’t have to say this much since your affection wasn’t really love . It’s like he’s the only one who was wrong . You were well aware that yvonne will come back according to the game . Blaming him for just everything is like he’s some criminal who planned your murder . Considering everyone’s behavior he believed that you were suffering so he will obviously want to chop them for his master and take his master away . “sigh” I like callisto anyway
i mean he is a grown man and is responsible for his choices, but she grabbed an emotionally dependent man hat was VERY EASY to influence and used him, his current state is also her responsibility
