Did we read the same thing? She didn’t “pick his side” because he’s pretty. She pitied his neglectful childhood because hers was the same. And she still has empathy for his mother who was in a terrible situation. I swear, some of you will do anything to hate on a FL who doesn’t react exactly the way you would in a situation. It’s fiction, if you don’t like it, there’s lots of other ones.
