This is alright, but I like full out revenge stories better. I wish the author wrote in character growth for FL.

These comments are getting frustrating. She’s clearly been abused and manipulated since she was a kid, especially by her own family. You all discrediting her is like discrediting victims who have gone through similar events. Quickly overcoming your trauma and realising that you’ve been manipulated, especially when you have been brainwashed within less than a year is unreasonable and unrealistic. This is clearly planned to be a long story, so give it time.

100% with the comments. I really get tired of FL’s being presented as “So smart and pretty and shy and modest and not like other girls because she don’t know she’s beautiful” tropes/types that then aren’t depicted as smart at all when it counts – lacking in common sense, and literally reinforcing her own victimization at every step. On one hand, I get it, in reality people can get this way from CPTSD (which she most certainly has) – but as a medium meant for ‘entertainment’ I’m starting to wonder when we’re going to see any resolution to any of her problems at any point; we’ve not gotten much ‘revenge’ for being a revenge story… It’s all been passive damsel in distress for ages as more and more problems pile on. Makes it hard to stick it out when there’s so little pay off.

She’s kind of annoying.. First the guy who tried to r**e her while drunk now the guys who tried to sabotage everything by their macho man’s shit she keeps letting everyone walk all over her it’s getting irritating at this point 🙄
