Duchess in Ruins - Chapter 18

It’s a pity the artist reduced the Edele’s sickness to just one panel. It was much more serious in the novel. It happened before the incident with the knights. That is why Laszlo was so angry with his sister. He told Edele to rest and Lynnia called her, basicaly ignoring his “command”.
To the sickness itself, she wasn’t feeling well and Marsha seeing that just gave her more work. She locked FL in the laundry room where Edele collapsed from fever. In the evening when Laszlo came back home, Marsha was trying to badmouth FL hoping Laszlo would punish her, but Lila and Celia stepped in and told the real story. They rushed to the laundry room, where they found Edele on the floor. The maids moved her to the room and Laszlo called the doctor.
It was really serious, the doctor ever said that because of the fever “her brain was almost half cooked”. That was also the reason why Laszlo was so furious with Marsha.
