Its not as easy as you think. Alec awakned his memories well into his marriage with Afrosa. By the time his mind was starting to waver, she was already showing early signs of pregnancy.
So, what do you think? Leave your pregnant wife and go become the Emperor? What do you Ofreze and Belgenor would do if they found out that a child of the Imperial bloodline was hidden away in the sticks with a powerless mother who happens to be a slave? Do you really think that Afrose will be able to live a good life as a runaway slave under a decrepit commoner guardian raising the Emperor’s bastard child?
Think before you speak. things are not as clear cut as you may think. It is quite difficult to manuver through the intricacies and challenges that come with being associated with the Emperor, even if you claim other insignificant.

That’s why he should’ve done what the father suggested. Leave her before he left to claimed his throne. Cut ties. She’s not gonna be 100% safe, but will be safer away from him. At least she will be protected from the ridicule of others for sitting on the empress throne. And will not wake up every day to the scheme of the other wives/women who wanted that seat. Most importantly, that is what she want. She doesn’t want him. He’s making all the decisions for himself. He doesn’t love her enough to consider what she want, not before and not now.

In fact you should’ve done as her adopted father said, leave and divorce her before anyone knew. Yet you did the opposite. You dragged her into the light for all your enemies to see. Fact is, she was a slave. You can’t protect her every second from being ridiculed and mocked by those so called noble. But you’re too selfish to actually really love her. There’s no redemption for him. Even with the do over, he’s making all the decisions and doing everything for himself. He doesn’t care about Rose’s happiness. This is not the yandere vibe I like…just set her free you trash. You brought nothing but unhappiness in her past life and now this life.

I get he wants her to be safe. And as a royal, he cannot keep her safe with no political power. But once Rose remembered, he should have explained himself, telling her that he was going to do it differently, that he was going to keep her safe, keep their child safe. Him not explaining himself is just making her more scared, and unstable.
