So the one group of evolved critters that has never actively gone out of it’s way to attack people and ONLY fought back/killed in retaliation is the one they’re all bent out of shape to absolutely go and kill right away? The one group that they know for sure are intelligent enough to communicate with human language, and rather than try to actually speak with them they’re like “nah let’s just throw an army of nobodies at it, that’ll work”…..FML.
Hell even that one stupid chick who tried to eat the fire jewel is proof that the humans are rushing too fast and have no real way of guaranteeing their results or control over anything. The fact that she was very obviously going to be a problem right from her initiation exam and they just didn’t do anything about it is a pretty bad sign of just how inept they’re being about everything. You’d think the thereat of extinction from the seas would make them smarten up and stop wasting resources/risking failure over stupidity like that.
