@Everlasting, there is a stand-in who walks around with the Crown Prince’s armor while Max and his small squad go off doing whatever they want. It’s likely that all interactions with “the Crown Prince” have just been the poor stand-in. He was mentioned in an offhand comment several chapters ago when a guard said the guy didn’t have the heart for the job anymore.
