I feel like her dad will eventually come around once he realizes she’s his/ his he misunderstanding between her parents the last time they parted is resolved but oooohhhhh do I hate him right now

It’s in spoiler territory, but her dad does come around in a big way after a few years or so! When it reaches that point, he goes through the regret phase and wanting desperately to make it up to her. It’s been forever since I’ve read the novel though, and the updates were slow and stopped shortly after, so I’m not sure what happens later but where I was at she still hadn’t accepted him since it had been so long and she already had other people she cared about that cared about her.

I’ve never seen a brother trope where the parents rejects her quite like that before. I like it. The older sibling is acting as the parent. This kind of trope doesn’t usually get much attention
