Nezar27 No she didn’t have to fend for herself. If lucrezia tried anything cesare would’ve dealt with her just like he did with flavia. Imagine if he punished her like he punished flavia? This was nothing but a warning. Both sold info that they were not supposed to. Adele volunteered so that she could be safe. She was at least safe for now, she didn’t have any right to meddle between cesare and licrezia. When she knew He doesnt wanna marry lucrezia, that’s the sole reason adele was given THIS chance to begin with. What was she doing? The opposite? Why? For no reason! It wasn’t like she was cornered totally. All she had to do was play her part that’s all. Though i hate him for what he did, still he kept the Knight to protect her if things got out of hand. He had to warn and teach her a lesson. It’s disgusting but still. They’re not lovers, not family, merely an employee and employer. Think from that perspective. If my subject betrayed me, why would I be nice? She tried to go against his wish without any solid reason!!

While I understand that he might be angry at her for selling informations about him for her safety, she had to fend for her self , I think talking to her first was a wiser cours of action , and even if he was going to punish her for “betrayal ” the choice of punishment was tooooo much.

He was born and raised in it while she did not. He knows better. And surviving this kind of environment makes you twisted.
