“Stop Lying” in her psyche = fate worse than death. Stargazer is on point with their comment – two lifetimes of abuse, trauma, and mental anguish where an act is all that keeps you safe and the LEAST harmed, is not something you can undo in a day, a week, or even a year. It’s something you spend your whole life undoing. And she needs to be in a place of safety and trust, first, and that has yet to happen to her. It’s totally frustrating, for sure. But she’s under the impression that NO ONE can be trusted, because that’s all her life has ever been – TWICE. It’s frustratingly accurate.
She has literally lived two lifetimes where she had to constantly lie in order to survive, of course she’s not going to tell the truth yet when she doesn’t completely trust him, or any other character
