Start of the story has her deftly navigating all those political situations when she had zero power and was basically being held at swordpoint. Now she’s the empress and immediately “Boo Hoo, yes father, I’ll be your puppet” without a single word. Get fucked.

Just when I thought she finally grew a backbone, seems she folds right away after a bit of provocation from her father. I understand that palace politics are supposed to be complicated but it doesn’t mean that she should be spineless and let people have their way, however, whenever, as she did when she walked away the first time.
