I think the reason he asked to stop healing is because, the priest will heal the wound but the infection inside would remain. Later, he has to cut the flesh again. Yes, he needs better communication skills.

I mean u just waltzed in there didn’t bother knocking told the patient that the treatment won’t work( rudely) and expected them to be “obedient” this guy is a jerk and he needs to fix his attitude. Yes he was trying to help but still he was being rude.
