Let me explain it to you. So there are 2 timelines. 1st timeline is where saintess arrived in this world and took ML back to korea as a hostage where ML was constantly experimented on by the government till he met MC and married her, he was still wary of everything and everyone around him so that is the reason why he could not show his love to MC which made her believe that ML did not love and and thus she sacrifices herself to save ML and they both die. 2nd timeline is now when ML has returned to the past where the saintess has just arrived, his goal is to bare everything till he can go to Korea and meet MC again. So that remain, how can ML and saintess travel dimensions? That’s because saintess has powers to do so. That’s why she kidnaps ML to Korea to be experimented on. The story of the book the MC read is written by the saintess and circulated around.
