well, history is written by the victor. so if we say the original story follows this saying, it must mean that the OG ML was trash but was portrayed as the protagonist. And when the current protagonist is inserted in the story we see another perspective about the original characters.

That’s what I thought but I read lots of manhwa at this point and I got to say some (like a lot of them) have trash ML like “the abandoned empress” “my beloved oppressor” or “divorcing my tyrant husband”. They always have excuse for their trash ML past behavior like they’re abused bla bla bla that’s why they abuse FL bla bla bla like bro two wrong doesn’t makes a right lol. The bad part is you know the FL will end up with the trash ML anyway even tho they’re trash.
“Abandoned empress” is the worst imo not only the god of the story force her to stay in the destiny where she literally lose everything in her first live but also make her Mary the man that destroy everything that she has to the point she has PTSD when she saw him when she regress. I don’t mind if he had a chance for redemption or whatsoever but how could you justify them be together?? It’s like making a r*pe victim Mary the r*pist like it actually happened at her previous life, he Force himself onto her because the “Saint” can’t sleep with him then he got the saints and FL pregnant at the Same time and it’s the beginning of the chaos like ughh just remembering it makes me angry 💢💢💢
