Oh wait! I just caught that the emperor said that he was called away by the holy land for war. Which probably means the temple is behind the fact he was not in the palace when ML was born. Another piece to add to my theory that the temple is behind everything and that pope cannot be trusted.

I know she’s the late empress’s friend and everything but if I were that emperor I would not trust her anymore and I would send someone or several people to always be following her and report back to me anything and everything she does.
But I’ve always been the paranoid type.
