Stupid, they made it fairly clear that they are against priests and call them evil, so just tell them that you are running away from the church/temple because in a years time they are going to make you a human sacrifice for the emperor/king/male protagonist guy who is only suffering because he overuses his powers and oh by the way someone else exists that can heal him without consequences so you don’t want to be sacrificed when you don’t have to be and you want to live your own life!
Spill everything, all the facts and mention that you just want to find a way to survive and not get involved with anything that would lead to death!
