I’m confused. Why does this story tell you multiple times that stone is awful at holding heat? Stone is actually a great insulator, meaning it can help keep heat in and cold out. I have a few historical stone houses/mansions in my neighborhood, and they are known for having a perfect temperature. They hold heat for longer, making them far superior and warmer than wooden houses. And in summer, they hold cold better, so even on hot days, they remain fairly cool.

It depends a lot on the type of stone, but usually the king of stone used for castle has the main purpose of being durable against attacks and not for thermal properties take into account the fact that they are very thick walls and you basically have a freezer because the walls do not retain heat and it will not allow for the exchange of heat with the outside
this means that for big rooms like the castle we see in the manga you need to invest a lot into fuel to constantly maintain the fire burning to warm the entire room
