So… I would like to hesitatingly say I have 2 possible plot ideas for the story so far, 1 is: I think her mom’s soul got replaced with the real duchess who died previously… maybe. Perhaps her spirit was weak because her mom’s real soul could not stay in her body and died and passed on, even though Bebe preserved the living body… So, the dead duchess soul who was wandering nearby found out she could enter and live in the perfectly good and living body currently empty of a soul to inhabit it. And gained the memories of said body too. And thanks to the priest, who happened to bless the soul in the body to live and regain spirit strength again, she can now adapt to the new body. However, maybe the late duchess previous body died after she birthed the last baby, and after she found out the baby was born dead… traumatized by losing her baby after getting kidnapped and being held hostage by someone, “she died half a year after she was kidnapped, and they sent the dead body back to the archduke which had signs of recent childbirth” as the story said earlier. So, she saw this as her second chance at life and she could essentially have her baby she lost in her previous life back trough Bebe… maybe.
My second guess is a much different plot: Bebe’s mom is actually the dead duchess for real, the duchess never died, they sent a fake imposter dead body lookalike in her place half a year after she was kidnapped. Maybe they used magic to alter the body’s appearance to look like the duchess or something. And brainwashed the duchess to have a new identity and erased her memories and used magic to slightly change her looks. The late Emperor’s idea because he was obsessed with her. maybe? And then his brother murdered him to become the new Emperor, and locked them in prison without knowing anything about the truth… and Bebe is the Archduke’s real biological daughter… However this plot idea is… too twisted and too complicated and too weird to be possible right? Probably so.
So, this makes me think of a third plot possibility: The late Emperor and his secret love the abandoned princess of another country lost their own baby in birth and the duchess was kidnapped by him at the same time and they took the Archduke’s and duchess daughter Bebe to replace the daughter they lost. And the duchess died in childbirth. And Bebe’s supposed “mother” didn’t know, maybe. Or was forced to go along with it. But then the Emperor’s brother killed him and became Emperor, and imprisoned Bebe and her “mother” who was according to the story previously, the late Emperor’s secret lover and abandoned ex-princess of another country .
This is also an extreme and complicated and twisted plot idea too… not sure about any of these ideas being possible. These seem too crazy right?

The ‘mom’ is so friggin sus. I’m starting to think Bebe is his kid but not hers 🤔

its a little weird how the archduke went form sobbing in front of his wife portrait everyday for 5 years to accepting a lookalike as a wife, and having feelings (ie blushing and heart racing) but i guess this mahwa is not for angst
