I don’t quite understand why she had to go to this party. Seems like it put her in further danger. If the emperor found out she was staying with green haired Duke, they could have just claimed she was still recovering from years of trauma and abuse. Green Duke could have invited handsome Duke over to his house if he wanted to introduce her to him. She clearly wasn’t ready to interact with these people and it just made things worse. Now, instead of clingy, the prince is possessive and obsessed, the Emperor got to threaten her, and she was exposed to the emperor’s head alchemist. It would have made more sense to train and teach her so she’d know how to handle these situations and not put her right in everyone’s cross hairs with no preparation. Does this kind of unnecessary thing happen often in this story?
