@God killer you will be surprised at how much most Japanese people lack self confidence. Japanese culture endorses normalcy and an all out general form of living. “The nail that sticks out, gets hammered” is a Japanese proverb. That itself answers your question. Japanese people ae forced to be diciplined and ‘normal’, whild they supress their individuality nad conform to the general standards of society. That is one of the main reasons that Japan has very few new innovations.
