Ofc she rejected for the sake of her Lily’s future.I mean Lily have her future planned to become a famous painter . Time skipped,Lily succeeded of her career & eventually she say Yes to marry Douglas.Happy ending for both of them.
Im still waiting for the event that the whole Empire conduct a crown princess competition.Actually after a big rejection of Iris to crown prince proposal(she dont know yet but her mother does).His heartbroken so his parents are worried and help him to find a partner(probably so that he will have a reason to live?).Ashley did a sneaky way and put the name of Iris and Ashley explained to evryone that she dont have a tiniest interest become a crwon princess.

My guess is that it’s because she already told her daughters that she wants them to be able to choose their partners. Lily hasn’t shown a noticable interest in him in front of her mom (especially after her feelings of betrayal from him not recognizing her without the mask like he promised he would), so she has no reason to believe he’d be a good choice for marriage for Lily. It probably has seemed pretty one-sided to her so far.

Pretty sure she’ll say yes eventually, but for now it’s time for him to regain lily’s affections for him by going on some dates and proving his feeling for her to her lol looking forward to it though!
