I’m holding it in since I don’t know his side of the story but I feel it would go a little something like this
A night of his grandfather came to find him who is a heir to the dukedom and says if you don’t come with me your dear host (FL) will be put at risk of danger *they will kill her* having no choice he followed them without saying goodbye and wasn’t allowed to write letter or anything for not only was he not strong enough to protect her yet but didn’t want to risk her being harmed
