Yes, both those things are true. **In Real Life.** This is a ~~fictional~~ story.
According to the “magic” (or whatever they call it) of this world, the dragon that blessed their family also makes their hair black, probably so they would know at a glance who has the dragon’s blessing. Since MC doesn’t have black hair, they just assume she’s illegitimate. We know that’s not true but they probably never had a case like her’s before (a non black-haired daughter) so they just assume they know.
Magic in this world doesn’t follow real life genetics. They have their own rules in this.
Anyways, it’s best not to think to much about it and just read the story.

Brown is the most likely out come because hair is a mixed trait. No one in history would have questioned this. I guess my cousins should all be thrown out because they has parents both black and blonde and all came out brown.
The writer must live in a place with only one hair color That is the only way I can justify this, Because this is so forced.
(black-haired and blonde-haired couple are most likely to have dark blonde or brown hair. It is less likely to have black and even more less likely to have blonde though exceptions do happen)

I believe the mother did not commit adultery, and that the explanation may be more logical, particularly when considering her hair color.
Firstly, individuals with dark hair can carry recessive genes for lighter hair. Additionally, increased levels of certain hormones can stimulate melanin production, which may cause a gradual shift from blonde to brown hair over time.
Why do I feel like author write she got saved by Blonde lady but blonde lady orchestrated her mother’s death and sent brown hair guy to pretend to be her dad so she’ll be sent to the tower, suffer and blame everyone so whoever saves her she’s be loyal to. I mean it would be a diabolical plan.
