I like novel’s ending better, but this is a great ending for the story manhwa was telling.
Everybody has their own tastes and if you like the ending better in the novel, that’s fine or if you like this ending better, then that’s fine, too. Either way, I’m glade our girl Edith has her needed happy ending.
In the novel the writer never leaves the body she possessed. There was also no multi Iren meet up.
It ended like this: (also think book ending was better)
* after the dungeon stuff the father and brother are still mild Aholes. And in the end both FL.and ML move to the mountain castle to get away from all the BS. The writer is still there and the duke just let’s her off because “she’s a good girl and can do no wrong”
*FL and ML make a real success of Mt retreat and enev the blonde butler jumps ship and moves there. As he’s sick og Writers BS.
*back a Duke’s the writer goes even more psyco. She demands a huge wedding (so big it out shines the royals and pisses them off) at that point Duke and Dutchess realise they were wrong about FL and apologize via letter.
*FL thinks that’s nice and ML thinks it’s too little too late.
* FL and ML find out she’s pregnant. They have a boy.
Then we get a time jump. I think a few years have passed maybe 3.
*The FL knows that duke, duchess and even oldest brother are sick of writers Sh!£. But she’s still married to brother so nothing can be done.
*fl suggests they visit duke and bring their son. The grandson brings everyone great joy.
*the writer knows she’s in the Dog house (I forget what she did) but she knows she needs to do something to boost her standing.
*she knows that the kings aunt lost her son 7 years ago. Writer knows son is at a slave auction and got to buy him. But son never shows up.
*writer see another boy that looks similar and buys him and tells the kids what to say to make them believe he’s real. Then hands kid over to king and gets rewarded.
* FL and family are on their way to Duke’s they see a poor boy and fl rescues him. Kids asks for a job and fl gives kid one.
* when they arrive they see the royal knights swarm the Duke’s.
*turns out the real son has a birth mark fake doesn’t have it. When fake gets called out kid spills the beams and says writer told him to do it.
*writer is getting dragged away as FL and Co get out of the carriage. Duke and family are also in trouble.
* as all this is going down the Royal aunt is there and spots the boy fl picked up. Kid trys to run but is caught. The royal aunt sees birth mark on kids and then accuses FL and ML of stealing kid.
*kids tells his mom and everyone FL saved him (kid was being chased by the slavers)
*things get cleared up and FL is rewarded.
*writer is found guilty of a lot and this is the final straw. Writer gets killed.
*I think fl and ML find out they are pregnant again or have another baby. Anyway they go home.
*time skip and big brother has found a woman who is calm and good. He gets married.
He also along with duke apologies for being poo to fl and ML via letter.
Fl lead think glad bro found someone better.
And it ends.
In the novel, we didn’t get to know what happened to the ogfl because she got possessed by the author. This ending is good because the author is gone and the ogfl is back and everyone breaks away from the author’s control. Both the novel and the manhwa have good ending depending on the reader’s preference🤔 however they they really whitewash the rize(author) her ending was too soft, unsatisfactory and there are a lot of things they left out and were unexplained. Hope they explained them on the side stories if they’ll make one✋
Personally I disagree. I think it’s better that this version made Rize not a terrible person. The white lotus trope is overused. A naive but well intentioned girl is better than a fake deceiver.
I don’t like this ending. It feels very forced just to look different than the one in the novel. And that soppy story only proves that ogFL was an idiot who couldn’t learn a thing after years in dutchy.
