Which means we are seeing the story in away the original Edith supposed to go through as a pure evil
The new soul that inherent Edith’s body a victim as we can say, have no power to skip the events which means even if she tries to run away the other characters will bring her back to the same hell hole, also the author is a manipulative person who likes tovdo much pain behind the mask of innocent girl .. so in other meaning this is like a purgatory go through all obstacles to find your end whether Heaven OR Hell

Based on a previous chapter it appears she can’t deviate too much from the original plot because she gets punished for it. I wonder how she will get around that restriction in future chapters. I’m still interested in the story and hopefully, we get more updates soon!
